Extension of Enhanced Premium Tax Credit

What this does

The bill extends the enhanced Affordable Care Act premium tax credits for three additional years. It amends section 36B(b)(3)(A)(iii) of the Internal Revenue Code so the larger premium-assistance amounts run through 2028 rather than 2025, changing the cutoff from before January 1, 2026 to before January 1, 2029. It also amends section 36B(c)(1)(E) to keep allowing the credit for taxpayers whose household income exceeds 400 percent of the poverty line through 2028 on the same revised dates. The changes apply to taxable years beginning after December 31, 2025.
