Protecting Our Nation’s Capital Emergency Act

What this does

This bill rolls back two pieces of the District of Columbia's 2022 policing law. It strikes the subsection that had removed police discipline from collective bargaining, so DC law enforcement officers can again negotiate discipline matters through collective bargaining. It also repeals the subtitle that had changed the deadline for filing disciplinary cases, and revives the earlier statute of limitations for disciplinary actions against Metropolitan Police Department members and civilian employees as if that subtitle had never been enacted.
