Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act

What this does

Amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to make certain aliens inadmissible and deportable based on sex offenses and other violent crimes. An alien who has been convicted of, admits having committed, or admits committing the essential elements of a sex offense, as that term is defined in the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006, or a conspiracy to commit one, is inadmissible. The same inadmissibility applies to a crime of domestic violence, stalking, child abuse, child neglect, child abandonment, or violating the portion of a protection order that guards against credible threats of violence, repeated harassment, or bodily injury. On the deportability side, the bill makes an alien convicted of such a sex offense deportable, and it broadens the existing crime-of-domestic-violence ground to include any crime meeting the domestic-violence definition in the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, regardless of whether the jurisdiction receives grant funding under that Act.
