National Coal Council Reestablishment Act

What this does

The bill directs the Secretary of Energy to reestablish the National Coal Council within the Department of Energy, using the council's charter as it stood on November 19, 2021. The council is an advisory body giving the Secretary advice and recommendations on coal and the coal industry. The Federal Advisory Committee Act and the open-meeting exemption at 5 U.S.C. 552b(c) apply to the council, but the Act's committee-termination provision (5 U.S.C. 1013) does not, so the council is not subject to the standard advisory-committee sunset.
