SPACE Act of 2025

What this does

The bill directs the Administrator of the General Services Administration, in carrying out an existing 2024 water-resources-act provision, to work with the federal agencies that occupy leased space on sharing that space. The Administrator must collaborate with tenants to identify their concerns about shared-space arrangements, develop criteria that would expand space-sharing or collocating, identify how special-use spaces can improve space-sharing, and set measurable objectives, in consultation with tenants, to quantify the success of shared arrangements. Within six months of enactment, the Administrator must brief the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on how the requirements are being carried out. The bill creates no new lease authority and mandates no consolidation.
