Stop Foreign Funds in Elections Act

What this does

This bill extends the existing federal ban on election money from foreign nationals to cover ballot measures. It amends Section 319(a)(1)(A) of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 so the prohibition on contributions and donations by foreign nationals reaches state and local ballot initiatives, referenda, and recall elections, not just candidate elections. The ban applies to contributions and donations made on or after the date of enactment.
