Federal Working Animal Protection Act

What this does

This bill amends the Immigration and Nationality Act so that a non-citizen convicted of harming animals used in law enforcement is barred from entering the country and can be deported. The trigger is an offense under section 1368 of title 18 of the U.S. Code, which covers harming animals used in law enforcement. The bill adds this ground to both the inadmissibility provisions in section 212(a)(2) and the deportability provisions in section 237(a)(2). It applies to a non-citizen who has been convicted of, admits committing, or admits acts constituting the essential elements of that offense.
