License to Drill Act
What this does
The bill amends Section 35(d) of the Mineral Leasing Act, which governs the fee the Bureau of Land Management collects for each new application for a permit to drill for oil and gas. It extends that fee through 2037, a fee that under current law was set to stop being collected after 2026. It also directs that, for each of fiscal years 2027 through 2037, all of the fees collected be transferred to the BLM Permit Processing Improvement Fund.
