HR 9328Jul 13, 2026Passed Chamber

What a yes vote endorsed

Improving Travel for Military Members Act

What this does

The bill authorizes but does not require the Transportation Security Administration to create a pilot program that speeds airport security screening for active-duty military personnel and their accompanying family. Within 60 days of enactment the Administrator may establish it, and only to the extent that doing so does not compromise security protocols. If the program is established, passengers are still screened according to their existing Secure Flight vetting status, and no one may enter a PreCheck or other expedited lane without a boarding pass that already shows eligibility. In choosing airports the Administrator must give priority to those near military installations with large numbers of stationed personnel, and must brief congressional committees within nine months. Any program the Administrator sets up runs for three years.
