One-Stop Pilot Program Extension Act
What this does
The bill extends a TSA "one-stop" pilot program and revises how it handles checked baggage. Section 2(b) extends the program by striking "six" and inserting "ten" in subsection (k) of section 7132 of the FY2023 National Defense Authorization Act. Section 2(a) rewrites the checked-baggage re-screening rule so the TSA Administrator, coordinating with Customs and Border Protection, may let checked baggage arriving from participating foreign airports continue on connecting flights within the United States without additional TSA re-screening. That authority applies only if four conditions are met: the initial screening used an explosives detection system, passengers cannot reach their baggage until the final destination, CBP received timely baggage images beforehand, and CBP has not flagged the passenger or baggage for further inspection. The re-screening authority is also made subject to subsection (f).
