What this does

Congress directs the FCC to add shark attacks to the list of events eligible for wireless emergency alerts. Within 180 days of enactment, the FCC must issue an order providing that a shark attack is an event for which an Alert Message may be transmitted. The order makes shark attacks an authorized alert category. It does not require any alert to be sent. "Alert Message" is the wireless emergency alert defined in federal regulation at 47 CFR 10.10(a).
