Congressional Award Program Reauthorization Act

What this does

This law keeps the Congressional Award program alive. The program's authority had lapsed on October 1, 2023. The law amends the Congressional Award Act to strike that date and insert October 1, 2028, and makes the extension retroactive to October 1, 2023 so there is no gap. It also drops the fixed requirement that each award medal be made of gold-plate over bronze, rhodium over bronze, or bronze, and removes the cross-reference tying medal striking to that composition rule.
